We're Back!  What a Great Time!!

Friday, July 16.  Linda and I got to the Renaissance around 11:00 and began setting up the Hospitality Room.  The hotel was very gracious...we had a super setup!   There was plenty of room to display the swap/sell items along with two sitting areas, bathroom, and BAR! Laurie insisted we take her to the liquor store so she could stock up on rum and diet coke. MOBsters trickled in all afternoon.  There was plenty of hugging, giggling and drinking cappuccino...along with a few beers and wine coolers. :)    It wasn't long until time to shuttle off to Hoffbrau's to eat supper.   We had a grand time here!  One table (the "drinking" table) gave the waiter quite a time...they ordered all sorts of 'odd' drinks. Carolann found a cute little cowboy...and we have pictures to prove it!  LOL  Stuffed and a little giddy, we headed back to the hotel's Hospitality Room for more visiting. We showed off tattoos and toe rings and had an interesting discussion about body piercing.  Some of us stayed up until 3:00 that morning...and 6:00 came VERY early the next morning!

Saturday, July 17.  The hotel had a scrumptious breakfast buffet!   Stuffed again, we met in the lobby to head to downtown Grapevine for a morning of bear rescuing until lunch at Willhoite's.  The buffet was excellent...altho a few opted to have a liquid lunch.  LOL!  Now I know the meaning of the iguana, Michelle!  ROFL!  And yes...there was a bread bakery!!  I only went in to LOOK but Linda quickly embarrassed me by picking up a tray of bread, telling the clerk that we ONLY needed to borrow it for a second...and proceeded to FORCE me to smell the fresh loaves.  Some of us ventured to Grapevine Mills (sorry Linda...I thought this was the mall with the Karaoke store!! ROFL) while others hung around downtown...but Wanda spent two hours driving what should have been a ten minute drive, back to the hotel.  No wonder she got the Rubber Chicken Award! <grin>

Vincent's!  Our annual Vincent's event was a blast! The evening began with the "Offical Texmont Mobster Song"!  The "Lindas" were asked to stand up...then the "Linda variations"...then the "Notalindas". Wouldn't you know that Linda chose the song..."Linda".  ROFL!!!  I did have to stop the fun though and report the hotel manager's list of complaints.  It seems we got a little rowdy Friday night...and he had a sack of items that the maids had picked up here and there.   Someone left their thong in the hall... that sported little bells...and who said they were coming to Texmont with bells on??? (hint:  the one with "warm hugs")  A Star Wars bra with red spikes was sitting along side the thong...seems like Bars Dohac (aka "Cantina Mama") ditched it after catching a spike in the elevator door!  LindaB did get that darn cape caught in the elevator as well and all that was found was a small piece. And that person who "loves to wear purple" lost her prized lingerie! It was found in the laundry shoot. (You'll have to ask Janice about this! LOL) Oh!  And we had to call all men to the front for a measurement activity.  Some "special" equipped pantyhose were found in the Hospitality Room.  And it turned out that Gary had the longest....legs! One of the  porn stars, Jamie or Krisin lost one of their tassels.  But I did convince the manager that despite finding Tattoo equipment, we were not running a Tattoo Parlor!  And we were NOT being invaded by aliens, even though guests overheard Linvolkswagon from Xanax, Sinmaverick from Ortho Novum and Braimpala from Prozac discussing who knows what!  Other guests reported hearing a discussion of "wang, wang, peter, sugar, cookie, petey, poopsie, shamboob, bubbles, happy and peanuts...along with dissecting coon and nuking peeps!  I did assure him we were a passive group and not to worry!!!  (((And I have no idea who put the poster up in the bathroom!   "Duo Does Dallas", starring Prissy Hull (aka Jamie) and Shamboob Hall (aka Kristin)...along with Easyringo and Luvofboyds as the Disco Dancers...special guest star, Barls Dohac (aka, Barbara "Cantina MaMa" of Star Wars) and Scottie Jones of General Hospital.)))

The sponsors were so generous...we had several drawings with most everyone getting at least two gifts. The gift exchange was so much fun!  MOST people were able to follow directions, right Wanda?  ROFL!!!

And the event wouldn't have been complete without the annual gag gifts!  We had a toilet tie for Ken, Candom for Allen, Budweiser shoes for Jim (which he wore for the rest of the night! LOL), cow tie for Joe, Martha Stewart Magazines for LindaB, Skinny dips for Jolene, Doe and LindaD, tattoos for Barbara (altho that stinker sneaked off and got her one earlier!), sunglasses for the porn stars...Jamie, Krisin, Barbara, Carol and Laurie, body glitter for Wanda's goldfish tattoo, soap opera tape for Lynne (aka "Boyce Belair"), seatbelt for LindaD who can't seem to stay in her chair, Peeps Crown for Janice, a keyboard condom for Michelle who can't seem to control her diet coke... Geez! We need to convert these MOBsters who aren't on AOL to sign up!  Then we can take notes on their posts and get them next year!  LOL

We rewarded the three MOBsters who traveled the farthest:  Carolann (1597 miles), Barbara (1582 miles) and Lynne (1543 miles).

Peeps' Contest Entrants: Linda S, Michelle, Janice and Wendy!  Way too cute!!!

Jim and Jolene Garcia had official MOBster Certificates for all newbies as well as us oldies.  What a treat!  Thanks to them for their hard work.  Jamie made up a trivia quiz for the newbies and they were also asked to make up a poem which were read between Talent Show acts.

Speaking of the Talent Show!!!   LindaB began the event with "Top of the World".  She did a wonderful job and has a beautiful voice to match her heart!  I followed with my own rendition of "Don't Worry, Be Happy".   I dedicated the song to Lindallen, who walked away with plenty of peeps. (would you believe around 1200?? Teach her to be head of Peeps' Police!)  Laurie involved the audience with "The Scottsman" and she did a great job!  Janice sang a lively tune...and while wooing Gary, he offered her a dollar!   LOL!  You did so good, Janice!  Linda S entertained us with a fashion show, featuring the newest in accessories...black gloves, gawdy earrings and that red feather boa! LOL  The finale was the first ever "Mobster, Toot Your Own Horn Awards".  Between awards, Wanda entertained us with a song...and all I can say is just wait for pictures!  Words alone will NOT do this justice!  ROFLMAO!!!  It was a little difficult hearing LindaD announce the awards...hope she was wearing her Depends...she could not control her laughter!  What a hoot!   Thanks, you girls, you DONE GOOD!!  Walking away with awards were....

Vincent's was brave to allow us to invade their restaurant once again.  We had our very own room with doors!  (thank goodness!  LOL)   If you are ever in the area, you must check them out!  Great food and the manager, Jim, is an absolute doll!  Who else would pick Janice's oysters (those weird black thingies, according to Janice) out of her meal with a giant smile on their face?   And the bar must have had one great bartender!  Wendy, Michelle and Wanda made "several" trips!!!  Even the waiters had a sense of humor...and with this crowd...that was job!

The final event was the presentation of two special items.  Darlene got her Limited Edition Bunny that she has been whining for and Lindallen received a special bear for all her hard work...Texmont would not happen without her! (oh yeah, Linda...the little net is for baby chick rescuing! LOL) Linda and I were overcome with emotions at this point and I didn't get a chance to explain the details.

With so much going on the entire weekend, I am sure I've left out some "stuff" but someone will fill us in, I'm SURE!  Thanks to all of you who attended Texmont II.  It was so much fun!!!  Linda and I are taking notes for Texmont III, so watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here are a few pictures taken with my digital camera...lighting was not good!  The pictures taken
with the flash are somewhat better!!

Also, I'll be adding comments/stories from those who attended!
