New! Can you ID these garments?
Dear Mobsters,
Well finally I have the chance to write my Texmont story. Next time I will take the
following Monday off too...LOL This has been the Wacky Week From Waco. But that is a whole
other story.
First off I had the time of my life and to meet everyone was a thrill. Now when I see your
screen names I see your faces and hear your voices.
Linda, Brenda and Jolene and their DH's are unbelievable. The finest people I have ever
met. To say they throw one hell of a party is an understatement. I was in awe of all they
did and planned for everyone. The love that these gals have for the Mobsters shines like a
beacon. It was so apparent how much trouble they went to to make sure that everyone was
included and had a good time. I expected to have a good time but never anything like
this.The
hospitality suite and the dinners and the lunch were fantastic. But oh, you should have
seen the Sat night dinner, the decorations were spectacular. And their DH's were not only
so helpful but such good sports. And to think Allen is no longer a virgin. (bet that got
your attention....LOL)
Wanda and I met Barbara aka Midnite at the airport early Fri morning. We got there in
plenty of time but they changed the gate on us three times and we missed meeting her as
she got off the plane. We finally went looking for her and there was this sweet lady
sitting all alone with bear ears on. (of course we had ours on too) No chance of missing
each other for sure. From that moment on I don't think we ever stopped laughing, my sides
are still sore,
and sleep, forget it. I have been a zombie all week. It took us three hours to get from
the airport to the hotel. No kidding, you don't ever want to get in the car with Wanda
unless you plan on being in the car a while. We got lost from the group on Sat and it took
us another 3 hours to get back to the hotel and it was only about 20 min away. We know
Irving well now.
We met so many lovely Mobsters, but I have to admit that meeting Michelle from Austin was
really a treat. It seems that both she and Wanda got back to the hotel without all their
packages. Wanda, Barbara and I went back up to our room after the long grueling trip
through Irving. When we came back to the hospitality room Michelle had gone back to the
store in Grapevine and retrieved their packages. This was such a nice thing to do and it
truly moved us.
This has got to be what being a Mobster is all about.
The talent show was a sight to behold. For our part we presented the Toot Your Own Horn
Awards and had entertainment like you do at the academy awards. Wanda did an act that had
me laughing so hard that honest to God I was peeing in my pants and I swear I was scared
someone would notice not to mention getting a little windy with all the hard laughing.
I loved the act that Brenda did and I have been singing "Don't Worry Be Happy"
with an accent all week. The patients at the clinic I work in think I am nuts for sure
now. She was so cute and funny. And the hat with the peeps and the bingo dauber was great
and so fitting....LOL (Doncha love it Linda?)
Now one of the highlights had to be Laurie's song when she lost it and said s---. It was
so funny. And hey I did not know that Linda B could sing like that, she honestly brought
tears of joy to my eyes, this is one very special lady. And Celeste you have the sweetest
face I believe I have ever seen.
But you haven't heard anyone laugh like Krisin when Wanda started doing some very strange
things with the rubber chicken. Krisin you are so cute. And it is true guys everytime we
turned around CarolAnn was picking up cowboys, none were safe from her last weekend. I am
sure she left a few broken hearts behind.
Nancy and Darlene where on earth did ya'll come up with some of those questions for the
Texmont quiz???? I must have missed a lot. Darlene is too cute for words but I think her
reputation preceded her. (innocent my eye, did you get a load of that one pic of her. I'm
not sure who was corrupting who) Yes Darlene, Wanda and I really are sisters and neither
one of us is adopted. Darlene is definitely working on the wildest Mobster award. But the
way
Barbara is carrying on lately, Darlene you may have to give that whining award to her next
year.
Jamie you are such a lovely person and I enjoyed talking with you so much. I don't know
how on earth you were able to grade those quizes. And I know you did a lot to make the
weekend the success too and believe me all us newbies thank you.
Well folks I didn't just come home with doorprizes galore and lots of Boyds (not to
mention 8 boyds quilts) but I came home with toe rings and a tattoo too. Well an almost
tattoo anyway. And I came on Fri with one color of hair and by 10:00am on Sat it was a
different color. I swear Barbara colored my hair that morning. And she did a good job too.
We are so lucky to have Jolene and Jim as our official historians now. They even take
movies. Gee wish I could see those, I'd probably die of embarrassment.
And I got to meet Lynne, who I was secret to last time around. And to think I was on my
very best sweet behavior for six full months. What a sense of humor she has. I only wish I
could have spent more time with each and everyone of you. I didn't want to come home.
Believe me folks this is an event that you don't want to miss next year. I will cherish
the memories all year long till I get to meet each one of you again and hopefully lots of
new faces. Oh did I mention the cookbook Barbara got for Carol EasyRingo with a special
page marked on how to cook coon? And those men's pantyhose, OMG they were too funny. As
you can see I could go on and on. But honestly if you didn't come this year please make it
a point to
come next year. You'll have the time of your life.
